Partner
In 2006, upon graduating from Texas Wesleyan School of Law, Adam Abert began his career in the oil and gas industry as a landman, working his way up to title manager for a well-respected land service company with operations in the Permian Basin and Barnett Shale. In 2010, he founded the Abert Legal Group and focused his practice on the preparation of title opinions for the drilling of oil and gas wells and the payment of production from such wells throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Adam has also been actively involved in representing clients in the negotiation and preparation of contracts, agreements, assignments, amendments, leases and deeds. His practice has provided him with invaluable experience resolving many intricate legal issues involving land and mineral rights, strips and gores, Indian titles, pooling and operating issues, surface rights and complex ownership of minerals, royalty and leasehold interests. In March of 2018, Adam partnered with a longtime friend and colleague, John Caraway, in the founding of Abert Caraway, PLLC. Since the formation of Abert Caraway, PLLC, Adam has continued to primarily focus on title examination in the Permian Basin but has expanded his practice to incorporate all upstream oil and gas related matters, including the analysis and effect of joint operating agreements, and the resolution of complex lease maintenance and regulatory issues. Furthermore, Mr. Abert has ventured into the realm of renewable energy by assisting landowners in the negotiation of renewable energy agreements. Adam has been married to Alisia since 2011 and they have been blessed with three wonderful children, Jordan, Brady, Caleb and their trusty sheepadoodle, Millie. They enjoy sports, playing music, fishing, hunting, golfing, furthering their faith and exploring the world together.
